The Show

In this disturbing examination of humanity, love, family ties, and violence, three people face their desire for and fear of one another as they cope with the effect of dark impulses on personal connections. Written by a PhD candidate specializing in representations of trauma and violence, this play will both captivate and challenge audiences.

The story… Lufa desperately wants to understand his sister Bryn and the turns her life has taken. At the same time, Bryn is trying to balance wanting to protect her brother with finally wishing for him to see what she thinks is the truth about life- that it’s going nowhere so you might as well do what you want. As Bryn and her fiancĂ© Gabe reveal their lives to Lufa, he is confronted with the fact that his sister is not only a serial killer but enjoys being one. Ultimately, each character must face the question of how he or she can relate to the others and to him or herself given the violence that has occurred.
